At Shultz K9, we believe every successful training journey starts with clear communication, realistic goals, and personalized support. Here’s exactly what you can expect:
Step 1: Free Training Evaluation
Before we begin, we offer a complimentary, no-obligation evaluation.
During this visit, you’ll meet one of our professional trainers at our Fort Lauderdale facility. We’ll take time to understand your dog’s behavior, your goals, and any challenges you’re facing—from basic manners to serious behavior problems. We’ll also perform a quick temperament and drive assessment to determine which program would be the best fit.
This session is educational and pressure-free.
Step 2: Personalized Plan
No two dogs—or families—are the same.
After the evaluation, we craft a personalized training plan based on your dog’s age, breed, temperament, and your lifestyle needs. Whether you’re looking for on-leash reliability, off-leash freedom, or behavior rehabilitation, we outline clear timelines, expectations, and milestones so you know exactly what to expect from day one.
Step 3: Comprehensive Training Starts
This is where the transformation begins.
Your dog will work through a carefully structured training program—whether that’s daily training sessions, a board-and-train immersion, or private lessons. Each session builds on the last, focusing on developing solid obedience, socialization skills, confidence, and real-world reliability around distractions.
We keep you updated with progress reports, videos, and guidance to ensure you feel part of the journey.
Step 4: Handlers Course
Training isn’t complete until you are confident too.
At the end of the program, we conduct private, hands-on transfer lessons to teach you how to maintain and reinforce your dog’s new skills at home and in the community. You’ll learn proper leash handling, command structure, correction and reward timing, and how to troubleshoot any future challenges.
